Jeff Kunze started his Jiu-Jitsu career as a student under Rickson Gracie before relocation caused him to switch his training affiliation from Rickson to Rigan Machado. He started with Rigan as a blue belt and trained religiously until he received his black belt several years later.
He has won numerous BJJ competitions and was a member of Team USA for the first USA VS Brazil challenge. Jeff has also either trained or aided in the training of several MMA fighters, including Ricco Rodriguez before his fight with Nogueira at PRIDE Total Elimination 2003. Jeff has a laid back style of instruction and refuses to run a training session that is overly formal. No bowing, no "yes sir, no sir", no "RESPECT MY AUTHORITY!" Just Jiu-Jitsu for Jiu-Jitsu's sake. The Pan American Championships are second only to the Mundials (World Championships) in the level of competition and the prestige. This years edition of the PanAms lived up to its reputation with some of the most stacked brackets in the Adult Black Belt division that have ever been seen in BJJ competition.
Machado Jiu-Jitsu Utah sent three representatives to the "big show" this year (2007) and all three of us left everything on the mat and came away with some great memories, some new friends, and plenty to learn. Two of us even brought home some hardware.

The doors are open and class is in session! We are located at the huge Ultimate Combat Training center off of 4700 south and 4100 west in Kearns Utah.Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes run from 7pm to 8:30pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays with more sessions coming as the mats fill up.
With over 17,000 square feet two grappling areas, two cages, three boxing rings, a weight room and more, the gym is more than ready for your Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, MMA, Muay Thai, self defense, and fitness training needs.
